Maryland More Corrupt than Illinois
If you rank states according to the number of convictions for public corruption per 100,000 citizens, Maryland ranks ahead of even Illinois in public corruption. Of course, that’s based on convictions. It’s hard to count the people who get away with it. Maybe Illinois just has more highly skilled criminals running their state government.
The most corrupt state by this measure is Louisiana. Maryland came in at #11 flanked by Virginia and Delaware which seems appropriate.
